Hal and Parallax take their battle to space where Hal trick him into going near the Earth's sun where he gets caught by his gravitational field and gets burned to death. Parallax begins to attack Hal's home city Coast city, killing many civilians until he is opposed by Hal. Parallax begins to steal Hal's soul when Carol launches rockets at Parallax and passes the ring to Hal who become Green Lantern once again. Hal tries to reach his ring so he can fight Parallax, but the cosmic entity got lifts him from the ground and taunts him about being nothing without the rin. He absorbs Hector's soul, reducing him to a rotten corpse. After Hector's defeat, Parallax arrives on Earth and tells Hector that he failed him for not killing Hak. The energy from the rings attacks Hector, smashing him to the ground. Hector takes the ring and tries to wield its powers against Hal, but Hal revealed that in order to wield the ring you have to be chosen. Hal removes his ring and offers it to Hector in exchange for Carol. Parallax offers Hammond to be his herald, giving him telekinesis, which turned his brain larger and his eyes yellow.Īfter Hector subdues Hal and kills his own father, he kidnaps Hal Jordan's girlfriend Carol Ferris and tries to inject her with Parallax's DNA. Meanwhile, a portion of Parallax from the body of Abin Sur contacted high school professor Hector Hammond as he was doing an autopsy on the body. Green Lantern Sinestro is acknowledged of Parallax's return and attacks him with squadron of Lanterns, but who are easily defeated and killed. Abin Sur commands his ring to find to a Ferris Aircraft test pilot Hal Jordan. Abin Sur escapes from Parallax and crashes on Earth. He kills four Green Lanterns and destroys two planets before attacking Sector 2814 and mortally wounding the man who imprisoned him Abin Sur. After absorbing the astronauts' souls, Parallax escape the Lost Sector and started wreaking havoc across the universe. Years later, alien astronauts came to his prison, accidentally freeing them. Parallax caused great destruction on Oa and attempted to destroy the universe until he was imprisoned on the planet Ryut by the Green Lantern Abin Sur. This backfired as the Light of Fear consumed the Guardian and transformed into the monstrous Parallax. Parallax was inadvertently created when Kona, a Guardian, tried to harness the Yellow Light of Fear for good.
